Posting the signs for the Fall Festival key points of interest to be added to signs so it will be easy for drivers to see information. The news papers are starting there layouts for the advertising of the Fall Festival and Art in the Park. to get the best deals possible on all advertising now is the time to
do it and take advantage of the deals. The mummy wrap for the children we will need to get many rolls of tissue paper this is also something we will need a sponsor. John can get us a good price on un-waxed pumpkins for the pumpkin painting we are looking for a sponsor, this event was a BIG success for the children last year and we would like to continue it this year for the fall festival. Mercado and Atlantic Nursery did it last year. Unfortunately Mercado is no long in Mays Landing The chili contest and scarecrow contest all details need to be worked out ballet cards printed and terms to each contest we are in need of sponsors for each, volunteers to run the events (Arlene from Preferred Travel had that under control) We are looking to get flyers out to the schools for the art and fall festivals. Diane will try and contact Sue from the township she has the amounts to be bundled for each class room. Looking for Music, some band at the fall festival since we have little money we are hoping that someone would like the exposure of playing at the festival. The Township wants insurance information for every event that we have
in town or in the park this must be provided before each event. There are a few buildings for sale on main street so if someone is looking they can contact the merchants association any officer we have information on the ones for sale. The Mercado building is for RENT 6024 Main Street 2008 Hometown celebration will be June 28th Comments have been made about the merchants meetings. Some people think we are not involved enough in issues with the Township. We are involved with all issues that pertain to the Merchants in Mays Landing directly. John Kurtz is kept up on all facts that affect the merchants in all of Mays Landing including out at the mall. We work together to make it easier for people to maintain and open business in the Township. As an association we do not want to get involved with political parties. We leave that up to each individual own as to there preference. Our goal is to work on issues for the businesses and maintain our association as a whole. |
